Hi, I am new to this forum! I am a Canadian, almost 35 yr old who loves kawaii! I have become a little obsessed with it and love youtube for it's many great DIY videos on Kawaii. I love seeing all of the fabulous and unique, never ending creativity that is Kawaii! Being Canadian and in my mid 30s I have felt at odds with the culture I am in for liking Kawaii to the degree that I do. But I have always felt at odds with the culture around me so it's nothing new. People here expect sub culture trends to be just that. A phase rather than a lifestyle choice. I come from a very dark background and many bad things have happened. Out of all of the alternative interests and groups that I have been curious about, none of them have given me as much as Kawaii has. Kawaii makes me happy and has a better effect on how I feel day to day than being a "metal-head" for example lol. I would love to find friends who live in my area and who love kawaii . I doesn't matter what age because I relate to people of different ages.
I have two cats and one bunny. I have a big grey tiger kitty who I always say is like Pusheen or Totoro.
I love to smoosh my face into his big warm soft beweez! Hestia is a skinny white and grey kitty who loves to head bump! And Pippin my bunny looks like Peter Rabbit. He likes to get into twubble! I have a different way of speaking to all of them so they always know when I'm speaking to them.
I belly dance, paint acrylics and watercolors, draw zentangles, mandalas and cute things. I spin poi and am learning how to hoop. One of my goals is to learn to spin wool well and someday make them into sweaters and other winter fun! I love working with clay.
I enjoy indoor walk workouts and lift weights to manage my hypermobility which has given me a lot of pain and injuries over the years. Because of the hypermobility I am in a lot of pain at most jobs so I do not work anywhere. I enjoy spending my time in parks, at the library and at home. I play doumbek and guitar. I love riding my bike on trails and spending time by the water.
My favorite characters are Pusheen, Totoro, Strawberry Shortcake, Cherry Merry Muffin, Rainbow Brite, Power Puff Girls, Rilakkuma, Care Bears and Pooh Bear. Also love Hamtaro and Jem. I love fairies.
Favorite Anime of all time is the first one I ever saw : Spirited Away
My favorite Kawaii Fashion styles are contrasting fun patterns with lots of contrasting bright colors. But I have always and still love Goth Lolita, Traditional Goth, aspects of Punk and Grunge Fashion, Bohemian. I also love the softer pastel colors. lol I am passionate about many colors, prints and styles.
Favorite foods are cheese, chocolate, ice cream, cupcakes, sushi, pizza
My husband who is five years older than me loves cute things too and supports me in everything I do. We watch cartoons together on Saturday mornings and share a love for cute things including our very cyote fuzzy family!
